In a reply in the thread "No Story Tonight" on Mon 03/15/10 at 10:56:04, Wes Mentions a book that he said he had just finished writing called "Stray Kitten". Anyone want to venture any guess who the term refers to, if it even refers to a character already introduced. (WES, don't tell us please, let us kick it around a while ala Nick Scipio discussions on 'who's the wife' if you will) I haven't given it a lot of thought yet, but invite everyone to kick in with ideas. Thoughts anyone?

I suspect it may be about what happened to Tara since she left town, or since she left her husband.

With just a title as a clue? Having read Wes' stuff, I would not presume to guess.

Just to stir the pot a little, one character who has had at most a peripheral role would be Susan McMahon. She has lived in the shadow of her sister Tiffany and could meet the definition on "stray kitten".

Comments anyone, or other suggestion?

Thanks

Wes is the author and it will be released on Spearfishlkaetales.com when he gets around to it.

Just reread Wes' post where he said he wrote the story.

Memory is failing, read 4 other posts and can't remember the original one. :)

I just had another thought. We clearly haven't heard the last of Nancy, and what happens to her after the canyon trip.

Hey, the "kitten" could be a guy, though it's unlikely. Wes has entirely too many undeveloped characters we know about, have names of, even, like one of the Magnificent Seven basketball players from Facing the Storm. Or her boyfriend? There's even a reasonable chance it's someone entirely new, someone we've never heard of before this. I'm not going to put forth any names yet, will wait a bit. Might suggest someone later.

Wes said this is the last of the spearfish lake tales for a while. Somewhere else he said there'd be more bradford stories. So I expect it'll be a Bradford Exile...

Square One is the last of the original series of Spearfish Lake Tales -- but there is a second Spearfish Lake series in development. Right at the moment it's projected to be eight or nine books, of which three are completed.

There are plenty of Dawnwalkers, Bradford Exiles, Bullrings and Birds to come, too. Right at the moment I have fifteen books in the queue to be posted, which should take me into 2014. With a little bit of luck I may get the sixteenth book into the queue by the end of the month.

I probably shouldn't have said anything about it since the separation in the series is mostly in my own mind. The problem is (was?) that there are a lot of stories that were written 2000-2004 that were set in the 1999-2002 era. I had to do something forceable to get a little more modern since I was still writing stories set in 2002 (and have one to go yet.) At least the one I'm currently working on is set in 2005-2006.
