Subject: Icewater and The Alien starts posting

I just posted the first chapter of Icewater and The Alien. There are 27 chapters.

Sales on Lulu for hardcovers, epubs, and PDFs have also been enabled. RTF files, mobis, epubs, and PDFs are also available from the Spearfish Lake Tales Store.

Very often when I put up a new story there are html bugs that don't show up when I tested it locally. I found several when I put the story up as it is -- they just hadn't shown up here, or if they did, I missed them. I'll be up until about midnight local time, so if you notice something let me know and I'll try to get it fixed. Also, if you want to order a copy of Icewater and The Alien in one of the available formats, I'll be available.

I don't want to say this is the last of the Dawnwalker series, but it is the last one that's been completed. It's likely there will be another but it may be a while. But there's plenty more good stuff to come in the next year, including the next in the Bradford Exiles series.

Happy holidays to all of you!

-- Wes

Wes,

I'm happily reading your latest mushing tale. It's very close to home, since I'm not very far south of Talkeetna, and it's about -5F tonight, with an almost full moon. We've finally gotten some snow, though the winds of the last few days have it packed with a hard crust. The weather guessers are calling for a blizzard warning in Anchorage overnight, and it will likely make it up here by Christmas.

By the way, I saw Jim Varsos last fall, and he's looking good. Carol is taking good care of him. And I've run across several of the folks signed up for this year's run to Nome. We have the Knik race coming up soon too.

Keep on writing,
Ken

Good to hear about him. It's been years since I've seen him.

Good story so far. Have to say, I hope your comment, Wes, about this being the last of the Dawnwalker series for a while, doesn't mean we've seen the last of some of the peope there. I wanna know what happens next with Crystal & Preach, Jon & Tanisha, Nanci, Scoot & Jim and the others, I hope they'll still appear in future stories somehow.
But thanks for writing!

I intend to get back to them sooner or later. I just haven't gotten to it. I have pieces of the story in mind, but there are pieces missing.
