On Friday I was watching TV on PBS and the "The Desert Speaks" came on and they were floating the Colorado. As they were putting in at Lees Ferry there was a short school bus being unloaded but it was white. I kept looking for a lady smoking a cigar but didn't see one. They stopped for a while a the Little Colorado and discussed the difference in the water between the water from the free Little Colorado and the water 'out of the bottom of the dam' in the Colorado. They had 3 musicians that played at Redwall Cavern. They camped at Nankoweap. The timing was great to tie into with Canyon Fires. They will be continuing the trip on Monday.

I know what you mean. Last June, the wife and I took a driving vacation from Dallas to Reno and back. A necessary detour on the way there (THANKS WES!) was crossing the Navajo twin bridges. I remember standing on the north span looking up the river, hoping to catch a glimpse of some light blue rafts...

The return trip had us hitting 3 national parks in 3 days (Yosemite, Death Valley and Grand Canyon). Although the trip was beautiful, I'll never do that again. I could have easily spent a week at each destination, although I'll wait for winter to visit DV again!
