I'd like to direct your attention to the following:
"I never wanted to step on anyone else's religion and their beliefs -- that's what's great about our country -- until I started seeing it defining policy... Like gay marriage, you have a group of people telling other people how to live their lives, and you can't do that."
You really have to check what country you're living in because the freedom that allows you to practice religion is the same freedom you're stepping on. That's not right. And I want to add that if there was a nation of gay married couples who were telling you you couldn't practice your religion, I'd be speaking up for you too. So, let's stop the nonsense,"

Ok, maybe it's just me but what is so completely horrible about this? This doesn't sound so bad, does it? He's not against anyone practicing their religion or squashing their beliefs, quite the opposite. But he is pointing out a very important contradiction. Because it's always the deeply religious people that try to tell others how to live their lives. And thank heavens you're not one of them, Gina, but unfortunately enough, not everyone is like you. And that's the real tragedy of it all. If everyone was like you and used religion for good, for their own personal benefit and self-improvement but not to be tyrants and crush opposing views, we will be one perfect country, that's for sure!!
So again, i dont see what in his words is so appalling but i'm definitely interested in you explaining it to me, buddy
