Well, actually it was a Brangelina thing before it was a Brangelina thing, LOL.
So what does that mean now? The Smith-movie was a Brangelina thing and was a huge success, while the Brangelina movie TMH is not such a hit.
So this underlines what I said before, I guess. If people are interested in a film they will see it, no matter how big the publicity is around it.
TMH is a smaller Brangelina film, since Brad doesn't appear in this film, apart from his name in the producer credits.
If Brad had played a role in it, it could have been a better opening, since Brad can open a movie with big numbers.
That's the reason I guess, why Babel was such a hit. Most people said without the star-power of Brad the film wouldn't have grossed that much money, since it was not a mainstream film. There was a strategy behind it to cast Brad for Babel. And since Brad often works for little salary they got him. There are many A-list-stars who don't because they don't want to fall below their market-value.
