I met her briefly during the Malaysia MCI - she was very humble on her win - as in the case of MCI 2003 - she wasnt the early favourite but she earned her win with a witty performance. She admitted there were prettier gals than her during the Malaysian MCI and was polite all the time. • to be honest, i feel this year's pageant was quite rigged. if you ever seen the MCI 2000, the person from vancouver didn't deserve her 3rd place title. she couldn't walk, pose or smile natrually and she wasn't that pretty, I think Annie from Vancouver this year did a way better job than her. They usually look for a well rounded individual, good in everything (well balanced body shape, confident interview, strong stage presence and poise, elegant beauty). If this is your first pageant, I think you should not do the talent portion as it will distract you and take time away from concentrating on other parts of the competition, unless you are really really good at your talent and know what you're doing without needing any help.         • Treat it as an experience, you will learn more about yourself and others. The pageants should be organized but don't expect them to be as there are a lot of people involved organizing the event and everyone has an opinion. I'm not sure if you have to have a talent in the city you're participating in, you'll have to ask them. Yes, you will be required to participate in the rehearsals and they are a drag so be prepared to spend long hours there. ( I can always get into the "white girl" pageants, but no luck with the ethnic ones) When I was interviewed, the judges asked me what my talent would be, and since I was in fashion design at the time, I told them it would be a mini fashion show displaying my designs; they just gave me a funny look.
