Just wanted to thank Guy an Rob for a great event this past weekend. Looks like things around here are really growing and good tournaments like this really help.
I also want to thank all of the schools from around the state that showed up, New Bern BJJ, Joe Hurst BJJ, Team-ROC, Anthony huss's guys, the Fayetteville guys, gustavo machado, Lamonte Tyler, steve guptons guys, james speight and Franks guys from Georgia. I am sure there were more but that is all I can remember. This was a great turn out.
One thing I was really impressed by was the level of competition of the kids. I have talked to several people who were like did you see this kid or that kid. It is really positive for the sport to see the level of the childern. With this we know the sport will grow and survive.

My brother and I were really happy with the turnout we had this year. It was awesome to see so many competitors from many different school show up. We had competitors as far north as Maryland and as far south as Georgia. The tournament was a success in my opinion for many reasons, one of which is guys/gals showing up the day of and helping out. Guys like frank, jason, lamonte, gustavo, and others who jumped in to ref and lend a hand. Rob and I started this event for three reasons; we wanted to honor our dad, raise money for Leukemia research, and we love this sport.
As for the kids, man they are awesome to watch. Between speights and guptons kids us old guys have to watch out!!!

Yeah, this was a great event, y'all. If you weren't there you surely missed out. And those kids...well, let's just say that I'm glad I'm not 10 years old anymore. =)
