Last night in Norfolk Va, at The Rough and Tumble challenge
promoted by Kevin Weston.

Little John Gardner of Ringskilz was the main event and won via verbal submission in the first Round.

Couldn't find a fight for Ro Brower but Shonie Carter put in a good word for Ro to Joe Silva (Ufc matchmaker) and he sought me out and I was able to pass a tape of Ro's fights to him (So keep us in your prayers).

*Shonie also was the Ref for Little Johns fight.

Great show overall....started off a little slow but the officals finally got everything into place.

Danny Daniels of East Coast Submissions academy won his match Via Ref. Stoppage during the first round.

*Background info about this fight -- Danny fought Somsak Saycosy of Royal Tiger Martial Arts (Raleigh NC) -- They are located on Rant Rd off of Capital Blvd. From what they told me they have been there about 5 months and do various martial arts including Aikido, Wing chun, and Jujutsu.

In looking at the tape (hindsight) Somsak actually defended the armlock and the fight IMO was stopped prematurely....this say's alot considering that I cornered Daniels with his Student George......but I thought the same thing at the time of the fight....with one second to go in the round, the ref should've let it go but I believe they will protest the Decision with the IKF/ISCF. As a matter of Fact they could do it again on Nov 13 at the King of the Ring show in VA beach.

In the Dressing room I noticed Somsak nursing his shoulder and that led me to believe at the time maybe the Ref was correct but like I stated --one second left and he didn't tap.....This was a very mixed card....only one gym on the whole card had two opponents.....pretty much you had to win on your own with no favor from the promoter.....that I like...no conflict of interest.

Congratulation to Kevin Weston on a good show and John Gardner on his victory. You guys can expect to see good things from Ringskilz in the future. They are definately going places.

Ro had 3 opponents change their mind within 3 weeks, I believe only one had a legit injury....heard from several gyms in Va. the other two didn't want to deal with a Striker....Imagine that in MMA....Getting hit!!!

I remember when the early UFC events first hit PPV all I heard was how Strikers needed to learn to defend against Submissions......After MO Smith Beat Conan All I heard was Grapplers need to defend against Strikes and in the last 4yrs all I hear is ...become Well Rounded.....But it seem's to me that Strikers only want Strikers and Grapplers want other Grapplers.

I also fought that night. I was the third fight of the night. My fight was stopped in the first round by the ref. The reason I am posting this is bc my opponent is protesting the stoppage, he states that I only landed four punches and he was not dazed at all. I would like to hear other non biased oppinions.

Ryan,

If this is Ryan from Global......don't worry about it, I saw that fight and the guy was a done deal. I talked to Kevin the day after the show and he was reviewing all the tapes and all the protest.

Don't get me wrong he was trying to defend himself....he had the right idea but wrong approach.....he dropped down instead of shooting in.....he curled up instead of pulling guard and he didn't return any punches......That was a good ol' fashion Muggin'.
