Dear Danielle,
Anytime you have sex, you risk pregnancy - because the ONLY 100% effective b/c is abstinence.
I do not know what kind of b/c you are on - or the antibiotic you were given/took. However, I have always heard that antibiotics can interrupt the effectiveness of birth control pills. Doctors are busy people, and don't always give you ALL the facts - so your Dr. may have missed that when she prescribed them for you. That, or if she's told you in the past, she figures you know the deal.
If indeed you do miss your period, you will need to take a pregnancy test to know for sure if you're pregnant or not.
Do keep in mind that when you are stressed out, and even taking that antibiotic, it can throw your system off and make you late - so give things some time.
In the future you may want to consider abstinence.
Kris
