Dear Stacey,
I take it to mean that you're period is about a week late? Take a pregnancy test then. You can get a FREE and CONFIDENTIAL test at a pregnancy center - and you can also talk to the ladies there about any help you might need. Look up a center near you at this site:

You can also take a test at home - just follow the instructions carefully.
The other thing to keep in mind, is that you may just be really upset from the break-up, worried that you can be pregnant, and those things can throw your system off and make you late too - so all the worry might be for nothing.
From this point forward, do remember that anytime you have sex, even if you use b/c, you RISK getting pregnant, or an STD.
