What is the optimum weight for a 17 year old? -- Bec, 17:34:55 01/31/06 Tue

I am 17 years old and weigh 60 kilograms, I'm not sure how to convert it into pounds... I've always been a skinny thing, since birth, apparently I have a fast motabolism which means whatever I eat is burnt up faster than normal. I don't have to watch what I eat, but in the past year or so I've been feeling sluggish. I don't feel great and feel like I need to lost a few kilograms. Does anyone know what the optimum weight for a 17 year old girl is?

I weigh the same and im 5'6 or 5'7 , and im the same age. I asked my mom if i was overweight and she said no , your tall, and you have muscle, which i do. of course throwing up has crossed everyones mind once or twice , but its not the answer!!!!. you can get serioiusly hurt so stop it now!. your fine the way you are, if you want to trim up, run, and do sit ups, and eat healthy. but dont throw up, its not healthy, and its addicting

You are fat!!! I thought i was big because i'm thirteen and weigh 113 but you are too much. I'm not trying to be mean but how are you going to ask are you fat? You know you're fat. Instead of sitting there take some action and free yourself of all your extra fat. Take a walk around the street, eat some veggies. You don't need some nobody on the internet to tell you that. You can see that your out of shape all by yourself.

yeah your fat!!!I that i was fat because im 5'1 and weight 113, but your too much. how are you going to ask if your fat? you can see your fat all by yourself. Do some exersice and eat some veggies.

Well you are kinda big.You should probaly go on a diet if you don't feel happy with yourself. It's all about how you see yourself.i mean if you're in porportion boys probaly like your thick body.

i know exactly how u feel. iam 13 and i weigh 156 pounds. while i know that i need to lose some weight,but i don't need to be told. u shouldn't care what other people say. who defines if someone is fat? only that person can say if they are fat or not.if u think that u need to lose some weight, then go 4 it. but, if u are comfortable with the way you look, don't let others intimidate you.

considering that you are 13 and weigh 140, you should start excercising and controlling your eating habits. you are not fat! never think that about yourself! it only puts you in a bigger situation when you think that! when you say "i am fat", you are going to end up being depressed with yourself one way or another.if you are really concerned about your weight, then you should give it your all and think off a new eating routine. instead off eating junk eat some friut like an apple or something healthy. good luck!!!!!!!!! :)

None of you are fat...except a few of you...take it from a guys respective most of you are underweight. Muscle weigh more then fat so you know also. But I am 13 and I weigh 100lbs and am 5'3.
So believe me most of you don't need to lose weigh.

ok im in 9th grade and im 5'4 and i weigh like 140. im a competitive dancer so i have a lot of leg muscle and upper strength in my arms..my stomach though is not shaped well at all and i need help with it FAST!! i have a dance competition in febuary and i have to wear a tankini thing and my dance teacher recommends us to have a 6 pack...does anyone have any ideas? i already do situps on my yoga ball but its taking a long time...... do you think 140 lb is too much for me? Hi, I would like to give some advice to all you girls and boys who want to lose weight.

First you should go to this website:

enter your hieght and weight and it will tell you your BMI, this tells you if your are underweight, normal, overweight or obese...

Fat is an emergency storage for your body and to lose fat you need to cut out the junk food, this means high calorie food like mcdonalds, chips, and all that greasy fried food and too much fruit can also be bad for you, eat a bit of friend but dont over do it... while you cut out the junk food you should excercise.... try and do 1 hour FAST walk everyday, doesnt need to be jog or run, your aiming to lose 1.5 - 2 pounds per week.... 14 pounds to 1 stone.... you do not need diets, just eat sensible, dont eat mcdonalds or stuff yourself with chips....

AND DO NOT STOP EATING, you may think not eating food will make you lose weight, but if you stop eating you will gain weight and become very unhealthy...

search yahoo for BMI calculator to check and see if your overweight or normal.

I am 26 years old and I weigh 296 pounds. I am a school teacher and in school working on my Ph.D and its hard for me to cook balanced meals. It doesn't seem like enough time in the day! I've tried several diets and lost weight however, I'd gain it back because of my hectic schedule. I finally realized that I have to make time. I got a memebership at the gym and I've been working out for 2 months but i havent seen a change.

Honey, why are you even questioning this??? You are not fat! Please don't let the obsession get you at such a young age. Women are all gorgeous,no matter what size. All that matters is that you are healthy. Eat well,lots of fruits and veggies, and exercise,and all else will fall into place.Your confidence will follow.

Hey uhmm i weigh like 110 ? and i think i am fat cause i know if i lost weight in my legs and butt i would be like 100! and thats really good for my school ( most ppl weight like 150) so i dont know what to do i dont have much time to like run and stuff cause i have school untill like 3 and then mon-fri i have to stay after till 5:15 for b-bal <33 then on wednesdays i have dance from 3:30 to 8:30 i know i am active and i do alot but its not making me loose weight as fast as i hoped :( well write back please :D

Iam 17 and I am 230 pounds I have friends just like that. I do a lot of sports so I do not look like I am 230 pounds don't let it make you sad if you feel sad than do something you like to do for fun do not eat food to make you feel good. IF YOU WONT TO LOSE WIGHT JUST GO ON A DEIT it will be hard I know I have am on one right now if you wont it bad you will stay with it!

I am 17 and I am 230 pounds i have friends just like that but i play alot of sports that makes my feel good they do nat play any sports.If you wont to lose wight go on a deit it is go to be hard i know i am on one right now if you wont to lose wight you will stay with it. You can do it!

hey im 5'2,12, and weigh 165, you are not fat, i am so be lucky you are active and weigh 110, i wish i weigh that much. it hurts so much to be talked about behind my back, and i have friends that i look better than but are fatter than, and for people to tell me to my face in front of other people. it is also hard to find clothes that fit because im so short and fat. i have been trying to lose weight without exersice because im not very athletic and active but it dosent work and i cant find cures, everything i read on the internet tells me exercise is the key to losing weight but not for me. i also dont have support from my mother because she is thin and dosen't understand-says she does but dosen't. i want a personal trainer but my mother wont understand why, i mean we have the money but i just cant sit down with my mother and talk to her because she is so self absorb. i pray and wish that one day soon the lord will bless me and knock these pounds off me, i have been so discouraged ive tried to kill myself, but i just cant leave my family and friends like that. my family say dont worry about it but its hard not to,sometimes i wish i would get hit by a car and die instantly,but stick to reality, its not tv.i even wanted to drop out of schhol because i was so embarassed to go to school because of my weight. well now that ive poured the true feelings of a fat kid,hopefully you will think twice about yourself being overweight. no name

I don't think that dieting is the way to go. You are sooo skinny for 15. i think that some excercising (like sit-ups) would give you a well-toned stomach.

hey it was pretty easy i went on the slim fast diet i only drank 1 slim fast and ate a very healthy dinner and thats all i ate all day i spend HOURS at the gym on the eliptical.... that is the machine that burns the most calories than all the others i stay on that about 45 min to an hour and thats how i lost it all i left only 1 day out of my workout days because my muscles acted so much but ive been on this diet since september 11 .....ive been doing ok......but ya if you need any pointers im learning alot about losing weight and muscle toning hit me up when you can alright ....... take care of yourself!

everyones weight differs from there heritage and nationality. Im Indian for instance and in 16 weighting 145 pounds, being 5'5 thats about avarage. but to me i feel big because im not a small framed person, Im more of a medium sized framed person.weight is measured with height so you being 107 or so will also change because you are only 13 and you havent developed fully. you have nothing to worry about because your body isnt at its slinder stage, it will get there when you are fully developed. so dont be so concerned with your weight. another way to get fit and lose some weight if you are so concerned. think of a really pretty girl at school that all the boys like. and picture that girl being you, if you want to be fit and gorgous like that then diet and excersice. but remember its healthier to eat 5 small meals, plus snacks then to have 3 large meals. It balances out your metabolism, and also dont starve yourself, that only makes you bloate and its dangerous. so ashley, dont worry so much about your weight, it only makes you more self concious!

no i havent been cheating or eating mc.donalds yesterday i ate cereal in the morning and then at nite i ate a spoon of rice and a tiny peice of steak and a cup of fruit smoothie thats it so no i havent been cheating but wrkouts do u mean like wut workouts do i do instaed of leg raises and sit-ups i dont want the exersizes to b to complicated though. man actually juss tell me wut to do eat or wuteva cuz im doing wutever it takes to loose weight

lol oh and by the way anytime that im giving my opinion too much feel free to say something i maybe tend to do to that...but guess wat IM 138 :) another pound down so total of 15 ..ok um try only having that smoothie when abousluly necsary like if u have a big craving for somthing cold go for the smoothy.. what do u put in it? ... i think u'll have results by the end of this but theres like no way u can loose 1 pounds a day unless u like starve and that is way way bad ...if you were at 115 b4 u might be at 110 by the end and thats good i think like u could stay at that weight and just keep up the excersise and ur body would be in awsm shape!! do i think its possible yes healthy no....try to switch up your excersise cuz what your exercise is doing isnt so much making u weight its the combination of food and excercise .. the excersie it is toning your abs making u loose inches not pounds and then your doing leg raised right and again thats just toning your legs thoose should be helping alot but lf u see no change in your body from before the work outs and eating changes try doing different excersises that keeps u in motion for that full half hour or full hour id go with the full hour since u have a dead line u want to make. (but u did say that u think u saw abs forming so dont that sound like its good news) .. A good work out i sometimes do is the firm its really really good the totally body one for an hour. it says notice results in 10 workouts and its like sooo true if u do it all and do it right it might take u a while at the begining or maybe not i unno...
im soo tired i have to go to driving school its like 6:30 lol and i have to be there at 9 i woke up at freakin 5;30 i was cold cuz the air condition was on too high in my room burr it was cold in thurr!!!....
just keep up the good work tho it sounds like your doing awsm im glad u having be eatting junk food :) (p.s.drink water b 4 u eat ur dinner ull get fuller faster) dont forget to eat veggies:) ..

hey thats good u kno i sing to me my cousin and my friend were in a group and we were working on a video but it didnt work out we were called the pimpettes u kno and i was cutie pimp, my cousin was lady pimp and my friend was sexy pimp. yeah i kno im doing good at exersize, but the thing is today b/c i have two hamsters and they cant be together or theyll killl eachother so one is in its old cage and my new one was in a box i gave it food it had the flakes and water and it was fine till today i went to check it and it was gone . and i want to exersize but my minds gonna be on the hamstr like if its dead or where could it b? do u have any idea and the box was on top sumthing high so if it jumped down would it die?

haha i was thinking about becoming a personal trainer too eh like i think a couple years a go when i was in grade 8 and 9 but i dont kno if i want to anymore i think im heading in a different direction (music) i sing and stuff and i just want to see where that could take me, im in vocal lessons for opera/classical music and piano..and i live in canada and we have canadian idol so i was thinking of going for that even though what are the chances like one and a billion but whatever i only wanna do it for fun and i acutally think that show is pretty gay compared to american idol but whatever .. so yeah anyway if i was gunna go for that the next time auditions start then i wanted to get in shape for it and have a really good look you know??

lol thanks for everything ok this is what i ate yesterday in the morning around 8:30 i ate a little bowl of cereal with skim milk and then after i exersized which was around 12:30 i drunk a cup of skim milk and like around 5:30 i ate a little peice of steak with an egg. and around 10 another glass of skim milk is that good but man after i ate the steak and egg my ribs hurted bad i felt like i coundnt stand up is that from the exersizing or what?

i lost 14 pounds by excersising and eat properly.. just cut out junk food as much as u can (i did completely since june 15th) and portion out your meals try reading further down on this page for some excersises and foods thats were advised for nurium it might work for u but how tall are u and how much do u think u need to loose?

they say its only safe to loose about 10 pounds a month or about 2-3 pounds a week cuz if u loose weight too fast u can get like saggy skin or u might not get the right nutrition so its good to take vitamins when your loosing weight just in case (so your hair dusn't fall out, n stuff like that)

I started on june 15th ... I do crunches (stuff like on that one site that i showed u with the diagrams) i do front punches, kneeling side bends, zip-up's, back fly, standing biceps curl, easy warrior, leg circles, single straight leg and tricep extensions all with the pilates figure 8 cord.... all these exercises are on a poster it came with and are number and it telles me how they are done and how many times to repeat each exercise. i only do it every other day tho then on the oposite days i just stretch.

alyssa i juss did 285 sit-ups and 50 leg raises. its too hard to do 500. Do u exerisze ?? tell em what u do cuz u loosing weight fast and i can t be weighing myself all the time b/c i dont have a scale at my house i have to go to winn-dixie to check my weight. Before summa was over i checked my weight with my nurse at my skool rite? and she said that i wasnt overweight and that i weighed 118 and then like two days after that and i went tot publix to check my weight and it said 124? And then like two days before summa started i went to the nurse again and checked my weight and it said i weighed between 115-116, and checked my weight at publix again and it said i weighed 123 which do i believe but even if i do weigh 115 i still wanna loose pds. but the thing is if the Shopping stores are wrong im neva gonna kno how much i weigh!:( cuz none of my family members hae a scale and im not gonna go to the doctors to check my weight!!

why not the doctors they are the most correct? and i dont kno why the scales would show that much of a difference.. so does this mean that you lost weight now? cuz before u said u were 118 right and now your 115 so thats great!! and the number of situps and leg raises u did is fine only do as much as u can do dont force yourself u might pull muscles. for me ive been doing pilates with the stretch band my mom bought not too long ago its pretty good.. u can use it on your arms for sit ups and leg work outs it comes with a dvd and a pamphlet thing with work outs on it and i do that like every other day maybe but i try to stretch like everyday when im watch tv or whatever like ill sit and do the splits to strech my legs just to keep moving so that im burning some calories while im watching tv....and its ok if u dont weigh yourself everyday cuz that way a week goes by and u get to see a bigger number lost on the scale. but yo im soo happy i fit into this really cute skirt i bought when i was this weight before and it looks actually better on me now then it did then! :)!!!

the school nurse should have had and accurate weigh scale right .. so that other place u went and it said 124 it must have been wrong .. thats what i think anyway ..so u dont have a scale humm well when it said 118 on the nurse scale it said 124 on the other scale so thats a 7 pound difference... for now on when u go to weigh yourslef at the mall take off 7 pounds from the number and thats what u weigh approximatly.. im guessing thats what u should do if the scale at the mall is wrong but i dont know why it is thats dumb is there any place else u can think of to weigh yourself?

im so happy i lost another pound my total weight loss is 13 pounds im 140 now yay!!! i go to a catholic high school and i had these school pants that didnt fit so i had to buy another pair and now they fit!!! if i keep this up ill have to get my other pair altered!! i have my abs back my complection is nice everything is good!! i have these one pair of jeans that i want to fit into an in like 5 more pound they will fit perfectly even thogh i can already get into them.

there are all sorts of ways to loose weight but do u want to do it so that u are getting all your vitamins or are u gunna do it so that u are restricting ur diet so much u become sick?... um for breakfast the cereal with bread is too many carbs for the morning try to mix it put like dairy with grain and fruits and veggies like add a varitie.. like thats why i said the cereal with the fruit .. yes the milk shake was a no no but oh well u cant go back now dont hate yourself for it...15 pounds in 15 days humm i dont think that is reasonable but hey what ever are u still 118 ?? ...and the crackers again more carbs ..it looks likeu dont eat alot of veggies or fruit instead of cracks eat carrots instead of milkshakes have yogurt or go on the internet and find a recipe for a fruit smoothie like strawberry or something but dont have like 10 cups have only 1 !!!! dont over excersise just to be skinny thats a sign that your going overboard ( anorexia) an hour is good even if u can only work out for half hour thats fine ok !

u kno how u keep saying that u want to loose like 15 pounds or 10 pounds or 8 pound or what ever number ( i kno 15 pounds 15 days ) dont fucus on the number start off small u cant just take a giant leap to that number focus on the number u are currently at which it 118 and say ok im going to loose 1 pound then once to achieve your goal focus on the next pound that way it wont seem like such a had task to loose 15 pounds!! got it !

i went on the internet and looked up an average weight for an 11 year old and it said 87 and a half pounds and it said 58 and a half inches wa s the average weight( u are 62 inches so u are taller then most 11 year olds)
the best way to figure out if u are over weight or not is to go to the doctor tho i recommend it they would kno better then me..

I LOST ANOTHER FREAKIN POUND yesterday im officially in the 130's im im actually 139 pounds exactly .. this is what i ate yesterday i scrambled egg with toast and apple sauce .. lunch was a hot dog on a slice of muligrain bread and i had biobest low fat yogurt (its good for u it has omega fatty acids those are good fats they help u no hurt u :) ) then for dinner i had a small piece of steak trimmed of fat cucumber salad and tommato mixed with olive oil and viniger and salt and potatoes with mushrooms seasoned and through out the day i drank 3 glases of skim milk and water

heyy! I'm not sure how this is going to work but its worth a try. I'm 13 (going to be 14 this year) I weigh about 105lbs and im 5'2. I get called fat almost everyday and it really hurts. i really dont want to go back to school next year. It happens so much that i really think im fat. yeah have a small bowl of cereal for breakfast with a piece of friut try to make sure the cerel is high in fibre like more then 5 grams of fibre like bran flakes or just have special K but not a banana for when ur starting to loose weight (high starch ) what cereals u have?

well i could do 500 u kno but what i usually do is about 200 or 100 crunches and i put bags around my stomach so i could sweat and i sweat alot! thanks for the website

also try doing exercises that are more related to streching like maybe yoga or pilates these exercises make the body long and lean instead of creating bulk!

I dont think your overweight at all...besides, sit ups, dont help you lose weight, they build musle, meaning, you look great nut you weigh more because musle weighs more than fat...so if you want to lose weight, run, or something areobic. I dont think your overweight though.

if you want to loose weight cut the fast food chips no pop no junk food simple as that but can u do it? i havent eatten junkfood since june 15 and its july 23 and i lost 12 pounds .. portion your meals so here is an example of a days meal breakfast either a small bowl of branflakes, musli or other highfibre cereal with a piece or friut and a non fat yogurt cupor one scrambled egg in a bowl in the microwave with out butter or oil u can make it into and omlette by adding veggies and a few drop of skim milk and cook for 1 minute and 30 seconds also try to drink about 3 glasses of skim milk a day the calcium in milk promotes weight loss and is good for growing bones.. for lunch a stir fry maybe with all your favorite veggies (i.e potatoes brocolli, cauliflower, yam, zuccini but then again u may not like this stuff) use the spray olive oil you can get a the grocery store have a scoop or two it should be a small-medium portion have a small piece of meat not cooked with added fat (p.s. u should only eat until u have that feel of just before full).. dinner could be lentil soup in the can its quick and healthy and its not too bad even tho it smells at first (you get that at the grocery stores once again)and then have a piece of meat and slice of muligrain bread if you want u can try that with exercise on you own time like crunches and walkes it works for me !

I just want to feel better about my self and i realize that peeps should like me even if im fat but i want to feel better about my self. So some 1 who can like tell me what kind of exersizes everyday and what to eat for breakfast and stuff plz help for me! I do watch t.v alot but i am ative too. the reason i watch so much t.v is b/c i stay at the house wit my bro while my dads workin im joining the volleyball team in 6th. I go to the beach to practice. hey my name is Alyssa I live in Canana and im 16 i just lost 12 pounds byself doing it by porting my meals for example if u were gunna have rice have a small bowl and meat should be the palm of your hald (thats without yourfingers) its been working very very well im gunna try to loose 8 more. hey again about what to eat for b-day try 1 scrambled egg in the microwave with a little skim milk and if you want an omlette add what ever but no oil or butter then put a splatter shield on it if u have one ....lunch umm chicken small piece veggies and soming from the bread category like potatoes or rices but SMALL portotions... for drinks try to drink only skim milk and water juice has calogies that u dont really need skim milk is very good for the bones and promotes weight lose .. dinner some other type of meat whether it be a hot dog or even a burger yes a burger but on a multigrain bun and if u can try to choose the lower fat bugers less then 10 grams of fats is good less then 5 is perfect for dinner!! and on that hambuger put like lettuce if u want or pickles or tommatoes fill it up with veggies and thats all for dinner.. then i don't usually snack but if u get hungry reach for the carrots and celery (celery burns calories cuz it takes the body a while to digest the fibre so i eat it even tho its yucky) just thry to do soming like this and u can either loose weight or maintain the weight your at by adding some health food to your diet.

hey hey your 13 5'6 112-116 and think your obese haha that so sounds like me talking when i was your age any ways ill tell u a bit about me .. my name is Alyssa and im 16 years old i now weight 142 pounds 5'2 after loosing 12 pounds in the past month and a half and i have like 8 more or so to go ......i have been having trouble with my weight for a while but in grade 8 i was 104 pounds going into high school just gained the weight i guess in high school.. u dance 3-4 hrs thats good its good to be active but remember not to go overboard exercising..for food choices try instead of white bread mulit grain (more fibre) , cut the fat off meat , low calorie veggie dip stuff like that but eat break fast its important ( i have for loosing weight 1 scrambled egg in the mircrowave no added fat like butter or any thing but i do add a few drops of skim milk throw it in for 1 minute and 30 seconds and eat it with a slice of mulitgrain toast and a piece of fruit ..well about the eating disorder be very aware!! dont skip meals if u think u are developing one seek help!!!! you can die if u dont eat!!! I just turned 13 years old and i am worried about my weight. I have weighed 165 pounds for 2 years. I am around 5'4. I want to loose weight and have that flat stomach every girl has by the time school starts again in 1 month and a half. I dont want to spend money or go to a gym i want to be able to do this by myself and ever since softball season ended i havent been getting to much exercise except for swimming. Hey i need advice i weigh 120pds. im 5'2 and im 11. i think well truley i think im not fat you know but i still am meduim. And the reason i want to loose weight is for me not b/c no ones says i should.Practilly every 4days in a week i do about 200 crunches and i stretch! And this whole summer i've been here with my dad in miami (b/c my mom and dad split) i have only ate 1 peice of candy. I dont eat salads and stuff but i dont eat junk food either. I just eat my chicken or steak with rice at nite and cereal in the morning! I just want to feel better about my self and i realize that peeps should like me even if im fat but i want to feel better about my self. So some 1 who can like tell me what kind of exersizes everyday and what to eat for breakfast and stuff plz help for me! I do watch t.v alot but i am ative too. the reason i watch so much t.v is b/c i stay at the house wit my bro while my dads workin im joining the volleyball team in 6th. I go to the beach to practice. hey guys, im 14, 5'4" and im 145 lbs, in the past year i have lost 16 lbs by just eating right, i started going to the gym and eating no junk or anything, i do 200 crunches and stuff @ night, i do all those exersize tapes to boost my metabolism but my weight has just stalled, i know im gaining muscle and all but i dont feel like im @ my ideal weight yet, my problem area is my thrighs, im in a size 9 juniors just because of my theighs and i have alot of muscle in my stomache but i just need some help getting rid of these huge theighs and a little puge that i have on my stomache, if anyone has any ideas or a daily food plan that would really help me alot!!! i just need someone to tell me when and when not to eat and what to eat, im ok on the how much. and please no starving, drugs or pill techiniques* thanks much

I'm no nutritionist but I use to be heavy into physical fitness. You are on the right track by what you are already doing. You also realize "your" problem, and you want and are trying to do something about it.
It sounds to me like you have reached a plateau. This happens! It's the same with me trying to "gain" weight. My body chemistry will only let me gain so much. To get bigger I would have to increase my calorie intake, and work out very hard with heavy weights, low repetitions. It would be just the opposite with you. You would have to decrease your calorie intake, work out with lighter weights, and perform "lots" of repetitions. I would also suggest increasing your cardiovascular exercises, and decreasing your weight lifting exercises. DO NOT EAT after a certain time before you go to bed. Learn all you can about exercising, weight training, and nutrition, then put it all to use. It won't happen overnight, and you may not look like the person you want to look like but we all have "different" shapes. Some may like yours, some may not.
Keep doing what you're doing, give it time, try different exercises, play different sports, and try to analyze what seems to work. After doing that, you may plateau again and need to change up the program.
Remember, there will always be someone thinner than you, and there will always be someone fatter! Everyone doesn't look good in everything (clothes). If you don't look good in it, don't try to wear it! Wear something you look good in and stick with it.
Good luck with your goals. I hope you become what you want to become, if not, you will still be you.

Sometimes I feel bad to but you haven't said "WHY" you feel bad.
Whatever it is that you're doing to make yourself feel bad obviously you need to stop (I know it's hard).
If someone is doing something to you that makes you feel bad thaen you need to analyze if what they're doing is illegal. If it is, contact the police. If it is not illegal but it is something that is still wrong in your mind then find a good, nice person that you trust, that you can go to for help.

On the real, you waited a little too late to be trying to loose 10 pounds, Go to school, be yourself, let them see you now so you can see who your real friends are. After loosing the weight (as you go through the comming school days) See who wants to be your friend after loosing the weight. Hopefully everyone will want to be your friend because of your character, not your weight. You will learn in time that your appearance is important but it is not the end of the world. You would be surprised what you can achieve with a good attitude versus a good body. If you have a nice body and a nasty attitude you will still be considered ugly. Feel good about yourself, concentrate on your school work (not the boys or you'll end up in trouble), Start trying to eat healthy, exercise, and very soon you will loose those 10 pounds the right way, not the fast way.

That depends on what is considered fat in your enviroment. If most of your friends weigh about 80-90 lbs. then you may be considered "fat or overweight". If you visit your doctor, or call your doctor, ask him/her how much should someone your age, and height weigh. Bottom line, do you feel that you are fat? Do you get tired fast? Do you watch more TV, or play Video Games than you exercise? Do you like to sleep all the time? Do you read books all the time? To loose weight you must eat right and exercise or stay active.

Amanda, no, you would not fall into the obeasity catogorie. But, I understand exactly where your're coming from, so heres my advice to you...1.I'm sure you snack, who doesn't? But you have to limit it ..try different rules that work for you like only two snacks a day..don't binge! 2.To get those fab abs join a gym in your area and if you are to young or dont have the cash then find a daily workout to do every night before you go to bed. 3. It also helps to have a pal for support, if you have a friend who also wants to look better in a bikini then you two should work on it together...I hope this helps , you can do it girl!

You do not need to lose any weight sounds to me like you need to gain weight you are quit tall and don't hardly weight anything no offense but it sounds to me like you are healthy and don't need to lose any weight

Hi I am a new user for this site. Um.... I am 130lbs. I am 13 years old and 5 feet and 4 inches. Please reply to this message to tell me if I am too fat or am i just being silly. If I am too fat please tell me how I can do some things to change my weight so that I am satisfed with my weight and myselfs. Thanks a bunch.

I am so lost on what to do to lose weight. I am 12 now but when i was ten i became anorexic and by the time i was 11 i was 5 foot and 88 pounds. I still thought i was too fat so i developed a horrible cycle of not eating, binging, purging, cutting, not eating, you get the picture. Well i got down so low(weight) my parents found out and like force fed me and now i am almost 13 and now i am overweight....how pathetic is that???? i am 5'3 and 120 pounds!!!! i eat very healthy and i exorcise alot, but i dont think i am doing enough, can someone help me????

You might try writing down what you eat and see if theres anything you could leave out of your diet but don't take it to the extremes.
