Hi, You may be losing sleep over your baby and I don't want to take up to much of your time but if you need totalk to someone who has already walked down this path please feel free to email me. My name is Amee and my child was also born with gastroschisis. My angel, Giovanni Lee Cercone, was born on January 20,2003 and he received his wings on July 14, 2004. If there is anything that you feel I am able to do for you please don't be afraid. I beleive that God does everything for a reason- I beleive he gave Giovanni to me to 1.make myself a better person, woman, mother and 2. to help other mothers like yourself. I am currently working to become a pediatric transplant nurse(small bowel and liver) or a palative care nurse. Please educate yourself on your childs defect/disorder, make sure you understand everything that you child may/may not go through. It was a long rough and hurtful 18 months but if God asked me to do it all over again I would and I wouldn't change a thing, and I would never complain. I never did because no matter who wanted him and who didn't, I wanted my angel and I still do.
