Hi Amee, really hope you get this message and i hope you get chance to reply. My partner and I have recently and still are having a really traumatic time. i had the rountine 13 week scan and was told there is a possible Gastroschisis. we went back a week later and was told that it looked like Exomphalos (which was even worse as this condition is at the umbilicus and has chromosome linked problems). We were refered to a specialist who told us that from what he could see, appeared to be a small Gastroschisis or Umbilical Hernia and seemed to be seperate to the umbilical cord, which was relieving, even though there is still a problem. He said it contains bowel only and seems to be a very small defect. i am so scared that my baby won't survive even though we have been told there is an excellent chance. i am also scared that it will get worse, even though we have been told it shouldn't do. i have to go back in 2 weeks for a closer look. He said the baby seems to be doing fine. Please let me know what you think to all this!
