when i was 17 years of age i found out that i was pregnant. I was so happy because i finally could start a family with my high school sweetheart.but when i was about 5 months into the pregnancy i went for my first ultrasound and, my doctor called me in to see me, i told him i couldnt because i would be out of state. so a month goes by and he calls my mom and says, "Selina needs to come into my office because there is a problem with her baby".
All of a sudden i realize that it was serious.
So I by the time i got the message I had moved back to my home-state. Florida. And I had signed up to go to the doctor that i had been seeing before i moved. so i seen her and i told her what was going on and she had me sign a medical release so that she could see what the doctor was talking about and i remember this day like it was yesterday. she said can you come in so that i can talk to you about it in person so i said sure. and i came in and she said your baby has something called gastrochesis. and i said what is that? and she started to tell me. and she told me that i have set up an appointment for you to go to Shands Hospital in Gainsville so that you can be monitored closely because you are going to ned surgery.
and all i am thinking about is my baby boy. is he going to make it or not.
