Hi, I am new here...My son has a dx of Semantic Pragmatic Disorder and Dyslexia alongside Dyspraxia! Me? I am dyslexic too. My eldest is hyperactive food intolerant.

I too work in schools and find that getting people off the white paper only treadmill is very hard. We find pastle greens blues and creamy yellows work well as paper colours. The yellow especially does n't seem to offend teachers need to put things in black and white..or in this case black and nearly white.

My pet bugbear as a dyslexic is timetables....no sooner have I learnt one (it takes a long time) than it is changed, either because rooms are reallocated or general timetable reforms. Cover timetables for staff absenses are impossible!

Having just done a degree at the ripe age of 40+ I can suggest that the other problem in homework deadlines. I 'forget' when things are due in and am extreamly good at putting off starting an essay. The house isn't so clean now I have no essays to do! May I suggest that homework on regular days with regular handing in periods would be good. When no homework is necessary give something even a spelling list!!! so the mental continuety still exists.
