Hi my duaughter has recently been diagnossed with Dyspraxia, which I am sure I also had as a child, but dosnt hold me back at all now (exept for my spelling as you can see)her motor skils are really poor she can heardly write anything at age 7 is clumsey, has problems dressing feeding all these things, she is now getting ocupational therapy which I had to fight for and it took 2 years to get to the top of the waiting list, but they are really just working on things like throwing and catching, hopping from leg to leg, basic running around and climbing, she has problems understanding the sequence of things so they are playing games where she has to say what comes fist with picture card,eg. waking up,getting dressed, eating breakfast, going to school.
My advice to you would be get onto your GP,and school and insist on being refferred to ocupational therapy where you can be assessed, get some fish oil capsuals for your child as these can really help open up the channels in the brain (this really helped with my child),and get them out in the park, climbing and running doing as much physical stuff as possible, there is a really great book called " Disparaxia, the hidden handycap" and Professor Wynston recomends a game for the PC called "Fast Farward" but I am still trying to source it.
Dont pannic, our kids may never be balet dancers, but they will get there in the end, but dont let the doctors or schools fob you off,get as much information as you can so that they realise you know what you are talking about. Good luck.
