Subject: Looking for F-4 rescue crew. 1971

I was told that there was a crew on a maintenance hop that went West quite a few miles to rescue an F-4 crew that was shot down. I was also told that the aircraft was unarmed, and ony had the pilot and co-pilot on board - no gunner's.
If anyone can put me in contact with the crew I would be grateful.
