assalamualaikum sister

i always feel mistreated about being an illigitemate child.. and feel that i have no right at all and i m very upset on how people look on me...
i really want to know the real situation about an illigitemate child in Islam. I want to know their rights and how they are treated in Islam.. their mahram, their marriage and wali and is it true that they are not even allowed to have anything at all from their natural parents. Are they totally alone in this world and where will they be later..

As salaamu alaikum

I have 2 children ages 5 and 6. They are beginning to ask me a lot of questions about Allah and Islam Al hamdulillah. Recently my daughter asked me where does the soul go after death because she knows we are not permitted into Jennah or Janhanum until after we are judged by Allah on Yamul Qiyama. I did not have an answer for her because I myself do not know so inshaAllah I'm hoping you can answer for me.

Assalamu alaikum
I asked the same question previously, but i think you misread the question. Your answer was based on the prayer where as i wanted to know about the different prayer times.

Previous question - "How comes some of the different schools of thought have different prayer times. Surely Prophet Muhammed (SAWS) prayed at one time. Does the different prayer times mean there are hadeeth which contradict each other, or do some of these schools of thought follow weak hadeeths? Please could you give evidence".

1)I live in a country where the adhan is not said aloud. When praying by myself at home do i need to say the adhan and Iqamah or can i start the prayer straight away? If i do have to say the Adhan and Iqamah, what position do i have to stand?
2)What exactly needs to be recited in the adhan and iqamah?

After the salat is it sunnah to say Allahuakbar, subhan Allah and alhamduila. Which order is this to be said and how many times. I have seen various hadeeths which say 33 times each (Al-Bukhari), i have also been told that we should say subhan Allah and alhamduila 33 times and Allahu Akabar 34 times. Which is the correct method

Assalaamu Alaikum

Muslims rightfully suggest that the injeel (Gospels) and Torah's authenticity has been compromised, yet when they want to show proof to something they will often refer to the Scripture as saying "Jesus said this from his own mouth"...etc... Since the Holy Bible is not authentic, why would a Muslim use it for proof?

i am memorizing the quaran, and before i memorize an ayat i double check to listen to shaikh abdul baset to make sure i am saying it right. well he does it perfectly al hamdillah, but sometimes he doesn't recite hu(him) like in surat an-nasr. or the surah i am memorizing right now sura maryam, the way you read it for example is subhannahu, but the way he recites it is subhanna. and i know it is read or it says subhannahu because my mom reads arabic, and also i downloaded a software that has the whole transliteration of the quaran. i just wanted to know, should i follow the way it is read, i should i follow it the way the reciters say it.

Salam aleikum

I am a muslim mother with kids . I have a huge problem. My husband does not pray and fullfill his islamic duty. I asked him to make hijrah with me and the kids and he refused.
I thought if i make hijrah to a muslim country i would depend on him for financial support. After a lot of thinking i decided to apply at the islamia school in London for my children and as i am a medical secretary it would be easy for me to find a job and not depend and anyone except on Allah.

I am afraid he would not allow me to take the boys .I am willing to take the girls even if it hurts me to leave my kids behind with a father who is lost. I have been in this situation for almost several years now and i can not wait anymore and i am afraid that it would be too late because the kids are growing up.

Pls do you think i made the right decision?help me with more advice.

asalam'u alaykun dear sister,
I am writing to you in regards to a question that I was hoping you may answer but has remained unanswered in your archive 3 since 23-07-02 titled THE KHALIFA. Being one who frequents your site often I am well aware that you in your most worthy opinion are opposed to answering questions of a political nature, and in this I can support your view 100% due to obvious misunderstandings and implications it can create especially in light of the current Islamic situation world wide.
But dear sister this is an Islamic question first and foremost.Isnt politics something Allah (saw) has made an issue answerable in the Quran? Our Scholars deem the Quran a text that answers any question that is humanly imaginable. So how, how dear sister can we with total conviction in our hearts avoid certain issues in the Quran whilst at the same time acknowledging others as if Allahs book was some sort of menu in a restaurant eating from within it as we will..........Please answer me soon.....!

Asalamu Alakum,
My husband and I have been married for almost 7yrs. We were in love when we married. I guess you could say that we knew when we met that this marriage is meant to be. Then he asked for my hand in marriage for my family. We were so happy. Allah did not bless us with children yet. My husband says since the delay is from me that Allah did not bless me. I don’t agree with him only because we are one and what effects me effects him. I started to notice that my husband was depressed and always unhappy so I asked him and he told me he wanted to marry another wife. At first I went mad, to think that the love of my life is thinking of another, for me to share my husband with another woman…….. No that will not work for me. Than I thought it through very thoroughly and said ok to the matter. I now that my husband only thought about one part of this and that is having a child. I felt that even though I accepted this situation to the best of my abilities his treatment towards me started to change. We argued about the smallest things anyway one thing lead to another and he declared me divorced (TALIQ). That maid me so angry at him but I still want ed him back. My family got involved and we got back together. Now he did it again (TALIQ). What do I do? Please help me in this matter I am in so much pain because I still love my husband deeply but feel that what he did was uncalled for. What do I do?
Please send me any answers and any numbers or names of any one that can help me.

Thanks for providing this forum.
I have heard and read (without proper evidence) that wearing black was sunna (for muslimahs). Can you provide this evidence or is it cultural tradition and thus bid'a?

A statement was also raised that the (tarwrith) nightly prayers during Ramadan were not done the same way in the Prophet's time, how was it performed and was the Quran broken down into 30 parts also?

There has been 2 sources of evidence that I have come across in hadiths one supporting females unbraiding and one supporting leaving them in their hair when making ghusl after menses. I realize that the scalp is what is important here for cleanliness. Can you give your opinion as to which is the preferred method for making ghusl?

Thank you for your previous answer about the finger.

My question is this time is: There is a hadeeth in ( i think )in Saheeh Muslim that the Prophet (pbup) said that a person will be rewarded in indrucing something good into Islam. ( These aren't the exact words from the hadeeth )

Also i know that there is also no good bidah in Islam but what about the hadeeth when Umar said about a good bidah. Something to do with praying in a Jam'ah together.

Assalam eu alaikum,

Dear brother Adly,

I have read your answer(below)to Ibrar's question but i am confused as i have in different places and on the other websites found that Tushaad ends before Darood(Salam)and one should only hold the finger upright untill then. How i am going to know which source is right and where can i get more information, i.e. Tufseer ibn Kaseer or els where.
thanks for your help
May Allah reward you(ameen)
Wassalam.

As Salaamu Alaikoum,
Praise be to Allah.
In regards to the finger, continue to keep it raised even when the Imam has not yet finished. As you wait for the Imam to finish you can recite other Duaa's asking for Allahs forgiveness or blessings until the Imam finishes.

But the finger should remain raised until the giving of salaams...

AND ALLAH KNOWS BEST

Salam,

When i pray my tashoud i keep my finger up till the end. I am praying behind an imam and i've read my tashoud and duroud. When i have finished, i put my finger down but the Imam hasn't said salam.

My question is if a person has read his tashoud and Duroud and the Imam hasn't said salam yet, can you put your finger down?

Because i heard the Imam's of the past have difference of opinion on this to keep the finger still after you have read or after you have read put it down.

assalam alaikum,

can someone pray "salatus subh" right after fajar or we have to wait untill sunrise(shuruq).if after sunrise please tell me after how much time.
and
what are the importance of this salat.

my other question is
when a woman prays her salat and goes into sajdah
should her elbows touch the ground or not and should her hips remain touch the ground .if not can you please tell me from hadiths.
i have read a hadith in which mohammad(saw)told sahabah ,Allah ordered me to do sajadah on seven bones one forehead with nose ,two palms ,two wrists, and two nees.
when a woman goes into sajdah due to her sitting possition(she sits on her left bended leg when both feet are toward right side.which is diffrent from man .)she cannot touch her nees like a man does.is her sajadh goes right way or there is another way to do sajadah for women.
and
is it necessary to raise hands up before and after bowing(rukuh)with allahhu akbar.is it in sunnah.

should we pray salat ishah in early time or we should delay it late near fajar .

Assalam alaikum

The other day I read a hadith that Prophet Muhammad(sas) said a portent of the Hour is that there will be fire that will gather the people from the east and west.

The significance of why I am asking this is because I was watching the news and they discovered that there is an asteroid with the probability of one in a million that it might collide with Allah's beautiful earth. I just wanted to know could, and let me emphasize could, be what that hadith is talking about. It is a very famous hadith, I don't think you will have any trouble in finding it.

Also, I have been trying to look for an ayah that gives a command or sign that our women folk should wear hijab. I am only asking because I know a muslim sister who doesn't wear a hijab and I want to give her an ayah and a hadith. i can find the hadith, thats no problem,.

We felt she needed help at this time so we atended the babies funiral and tried to give dawa.

There is no sin on the baby so we make dua for him. unfortunatly the death of her baby didnt bring her back to islam;as we hoped it would.
Now we think maybe we shouldnt have atended the funiral, because there was a man there who said in the name of jesus...bla bla bla may Allah forgive us for being there that day with them...

Anyway my question is
(1)do dead babies go strate to paradise when they die?

(2)Do the angels feed them in paradise?

Could you please tell me every thing that hapens to a baby when they die? i know that they will be serving stuff to the believers in paradise.

When the Imam is reciting surah Fatiah and after recited Surah fatiah out loud and then he say the Ameen. Some Imams pause for a few seconds after saying Ameen in the loud prayer and then they start to recite any surah from he qur'an.

My question is, Is this a Bid'ah because the Prophet didn't do it nor the companions did it. they didn't pause for a few seconds and the people behind can recite their surah Fatiah?

Muhammed Jibally from America said it is a Bidah.

Is ita bid'ah to pause for a fews seconds for the other people to recite surah fatiah becuase The prophet and the companions didn't do it.

So is it a bid'ah for the Imam to pause between Ameen and reciting any verse of the Qur'an?

Salam Sister Laila,

Thank you for your previous answer to my question. Sister when someone doesn't pray...... you explained and answered the question but at the end you quoated a hadeeth that the Prophet (pbuh) said that he would burn their house if they didn't go to the mosque can you give me the reference were this hadeeth is?

And also, i told this to a muslim brother who prays his fazr at home and he says, that this hadeeth is refering to the jumah prayer, the friday prayer, not the normal prayers. can you please answer this?

Also Sister i need a little advice. If i work hard in obeying Allah and His Messenger, Praying my five prayers ecpecially Fazr and Ishaa in the summer which are the hardest, obeying my parents, having patience all the time even on hardship, doing dhikr, enjoining good and forbidding evil and many more things even if these things sometimes make's me feel dead and unbearable for me to handle. Should i remember Allah and His promise, that for the believer is Paradise for eternity.

A hadeeth a beliver's jail and a disbelivers paradise.

My questions is i should try everything in what i am capable of doing in obeying Allah to gain Allah's pleaseure and His Paradise. If i commit Sins, minor or major sins, i should repent to Allah everyday and every night. After every pray?

salam,
i have many questions that i would like to ask.
firstly i was just wondering, what is the difference between a sunni and shia? why are there so many sects and why do we all have different beliefs?what do the shia's belive that differ from the sunni's?

secondly, if you like a person of the opposite sex and they are practising islam and you know it is wrong to be "seeing them", is it possible to do your nikkah without any one in the family knowing until it is time to get married "officially". do we have to tell the family that we are already married in the nikkah sense when the official wedding occurs? do we have to have sex or can we wait until we marry when everyone knows?

if you like somebody who is muslim and would like to marry them but your family and parents don't approve of them because they are not rich or educated or have a broken family yet they themselves are good people, can we still marry them?will we be commitiing sin because we are going against our parents?but arn't they the wrong ones because they are judging and being petty.

another question i would like to ask is can we read namaz with perfume on or with mousse or hair products in our hair becaue some pefumes and hair products contain alcohol and how can we pray if alcohol is present on us?

lastly, are we allowed to "have fun". this may sound stupid but i was just wondering, is it ok for people to do things like bowling or go ice skating or go to amusement parks?

thank you
i hope these arnt too many questions to answer.

Salam Sister,

Sahih Al Bukhari, the book of the beginning of ceation, volume 4, page 283, part 54, chapter 4, number 421.

"Narrated Abu Dhar: The Prophet (PBUH) asked me at sunset, "Do you know where the sun goes ( at the time of sunset)?" I replied, "Allah (SWT) and His Messenger know better." He said, "It goes (i.e travels) till it prostrates itself underneath the Throne, and takes the permission to rise again, and it is permitted and then ( a time will come when) it will be about to prostrate itself but its prostration will not be accepted, and it will ask permission to go on its course, but it will not be permitted, but it will be ordered to return whence it has come and so it will rise in the west. And that is the interpretation of the statement of Allah (SWT):

'And the sun runs its fixed course
for a term (decreed) that is
The Decree of Allah (SWT)
The Exalted in Might,
The All-Knowing' ( Surah Yaseen 36:38 )

"Mujahid said, "They move like the handmill."

Firstly I accept the hadeeth i just want you to explain it to me.
My question relating to this hadeeth is, the last little statement i understand it will happen on the day of Judgement.
But the question is at sunset the sun prostrates underneath Allah's Throne ( it may be one of the Unseen, which the Humans don't know how ) but in one place of the world the sun is setting (magrib) but in another part of the world the same sun is high (Zuhr prayer).
Sister can you please explain the hadeeth?
and also can you explain what Mujahid meant by, " they move like the handmill"

I am confused in a matter relating to Salah when ever i pray behind an Imam and he is reciting out loud e.g, fazr, magrib and Ishaa. I listen and I don't recite behind him becuase Sheikh Albani in his Salah book say that it is abragated.

But then i come across other ulamers Sheikh Badee deen a Famous Salfi scholer in Pakistan who past away a couple of years ago who say that you have to recite Sura Fatiha Even when the Imam is reciting out loud. Please can you explain because i read the hadeeth and they say that you have to recite sura Fatiha when the Imam is even reciting out loud.

But isn't there a sura in the Qur;an that say when the Qur'an is recited keep silent and also can you give me a breilf tafseer of that ayah.

For Tashahud, that part that asks for prayers and blessings for the Prophet (saws) do you only do that for the Tashahud after the last rakah of prayer or for both times that you say Tashahud?

(And yes, I know you only say it once for Fajr.) :)

salam, recently i enquired whether you have to do wadhu after taking a shower or if you can immediately read namaz without doing wadhu (only take a shower) because we have just taken a shower and therefore washed our whole body (no ghusal or wadhu).i did not mean ghusal (after menstruation, sexual intercourse or wet dreams). i was plainly asking if we can read namaz with just taking a shower because i thought the wadhu was more of a spiritual cleansing rather than a shower, our everyday wash to keep our bodies clean (in a worldy aspect). And also i thought that with the wadhu we have to be fully clothed and with taking a shower, we are naked.

i would also like to ask if when we are "cleansing" ourselves (paak) after menstruating, is there a dua that we have to read because all i read is "surah ikhlas" and then i also do wadhu but i know people that do different things. so is there something else we are supposed to do?i thought that this surah was very important and can be read for it. also, is there any certain way of performing ghusal after menstruating?
thank you

After some weeks one night around 23:00 hours they heard that in the door of toilet which was in front them somebody was knoking and open - closed the door of toilet a bit. So iz it possible that jinns can do such a thing? After they went to the one of imams (hoxha) explane the story than imam gave them a tape with Kur'an verses and told them to turn on the radio for three days and nights and elhamdulilah after they didn't hear nothing. Assalam eu alaikum,

I wanted to seek guidance in the matter of fardd, sunnah and naafil. Can one recite Qurani Duaas and Esteghfarr in Raquh, Sajjud, between Sajjud and in tushhad after Durrud (Allah humma Suleh..) is it ok to recite other Duaas(Qurani or Musnoon)before Salam. And about the index finger pointing and moving, should it start with (Ashhad un lailah---) and drop at the bigning of Durrud (Allah Humma Suleh....).
Please help and Allah the most mercifull will reward you (InshahAllah).
(May Allah forgive me for the mistakes)
Wassalam.

i know that we muslims should give prefernce to those who are muslim as friends however the question is that their are unbelivers such as jehovah witnessess, christians and even hindus who respect other faiths and dont take other religion as a sport and they also have good qualities. So can we still be friends with unbelivers and should give them equal level of respect that we would give to another muslim friend........

i hope u could give me an accurate answer to this question as soon as possible

Watching cartoons on T.V is not allowed in Islam becuse it is pictures which are hand-drawn by man. Is this true?

If this is true, does this apply to playing games e.g playstation, nintendo, ect which have cartoons. Pictures of men and women ecpecially women half naked on the playstation.

Basically my question is, Firstly cartoons on the t.v for the kids to watch is this allowed in Islam because we know that these cartoons, that are pictures that are drawn by hand by man. e.g Tom and Jerry.

Second question is, are playstations which have pictures of male and females fighting which are cartoons, is it allowed in islam?

Salam Sister,

I was listening to you talk on taqwa and you said that the men should pray in Congregation and that it is 27 times more times rewarding then praying individualy.

My question is that there are brothers who tell me that it is not FARD to pray your fazr namaaz at the mosque because you can't hear the adzhan (call to prayer) . The brothers say that the scholers say it isn't fard upon a muslim to go to the mosque if he doesn't hear the adhan.

They bring evidence when a blind man asked the Prophet (PBUH) that can i pray at home and the prophet replyed yes.
( sorry if i may have misquated the hadeeth )
can you please comment on this.

My question regarding musical instruments. Theres a saheeh hadith in which the prophet (saw) stated that there would be those in his ummah that allowed zina (fornication), silk and musical instruments.

From this hadith it clearly indicates that musical instruments are forbidden whether they are flutes or drums. So my question is how come some people say that drums are allowed. and what sort of drums are allowed.

Assalam Alaikum

I have a couple questions:

1. If your wife doesn't wear the thing over her head is she still considered a muslim, and if she doesn't wear it is it haram on me for not making her.

2.Is it permissible to wear cologne that has alchohol in it, it's not like i am drinking alchohol, and it's also a different alchohol used in the cologne.

3.Is a beard fard or sunnah, do i have to grow one.

4.I read a hadith(Sahih Bukhari Vol.II #468)the other day and it talked about a man who Allah had given the knowledge of the Quaran(i.e. knowing it by heart) but he used to sleep at night(i.e. he did not recite it then) and did not use to act upon it by day, so his head would be crushed constantly over and over and this will happen to him until the day of resurrection. Well I know a good amount of quaran by heart and I pray tahajjud and then witr before i go to sleep. because whenever i trie to wake-up before fajr and pray tahjjud i just sleep right through while my alarm clock rings for half an hour, and i miss the tahajjud prayers and witr and fajr, so thats why i pray before i go to sleep. Because i don't wake-up in the night time will i be punished like this man?

5. also in that same hadith, Prophet Muhommed(sas) saw two houses, then Angel Gabriel and Angel Michael(A.S.), said one of those house's was for the common beleivers and the other for the martyrs. Mashallah this is a beautiful hadith. Well this hadith is in the chapters of janaiz and grave benefits and afflictions. i was just wondering is that place for the common beleivers, is that where our souls will be taken after we are put in our graves, or is that for very pious muslims(i.e. sheikhs, Imams, people who memorized the Quaran...)But the thing that puzzles me is that it says the common beleivers?

Jazak Allah Khairun, i hope this isn't too many questions

Are the kids allowed to read their prayer at the mosque. The fajr, magrib and Isha because these prayer are at night and you said that the satans come out at night.

there is difference of opinion among the scholers that it is fard upon a kid to read all his five prayers at the age of 10, because there is a hadeeth in Saheeh Burkari or Muslim that says teach him at the age of 7 and make him read at the age of 10 if he doesn't read at the age of 10 beat him. The question is, is it fard upon a kid at the age of 10 to read his prayers and some scholer say puberty even if it is puberty how come they still don't read it?

As I underatand that those who follow Hanafi Fiqah, say four Rakah of sunnah prior to Fraday Sermon (khutba). I do the like wise, as we do in Dhuhr prayer. One of our white English brothers who embraced Islam some times ago is adamant that there are no such Sunnah prior to Friday prayer. In fact he takes offence if he sees some body praying such Sunnah apart from Tahayyatul-masjid. I tried to convince him that there are some minor differences in practices of four Masalik (Madhabs) but he would not accept it. I understand that there is a Hadith in sunnan Ibn-i- Maja, which confirms that our prophet did offer four Rakaha before actual Friday prayer. What do you say in this regard?

What is the ruling on those people who knowingly quote fabricated hadith?

I know there are hadith which states that the Prophet Muhammad (saw) said, "Whoever tells a lie on me intentionally, let him take a seat in the hell fire." {Bukhari and Muslim}.

My question is if someones knowingly quotes fabricated hadith does this take him outside the fold of islam?

Islam never accepts conversion of anyone to Islam forcefully.I believe this. But my friend, a muslim came forth with a translation of quran stating that whoever goes out of Islam should be decapitated. He further argued that in christianity a christian can change religion , but he is not killed, a hindu can do the same and he has no problem, and in islam which doesnt force anybody to accept islam cannot move out of islam cos he is decapitated. this is as good as forcing oneself to be a muslim. I believe strongly that this statement is wrong. Can anyone clarify the doubts. He also argued female circumcision is a must and there is "hadith" for it and a male who doesnt circumcise is not a muslim, means it is a "Farl" and not a "sunnath"
Can any brother or sister help me to reply to the friend who argued with me and who I think has a gross misunderstanding of our religion and I am afraid he may move out of Islam
Please help.

Question #1: i am aware that smoking is haraam by the consensus of some scholars and allowed by some scholars as well if u would please state what is the correct consensus of the scholars and how does one stop smoking if they were smoking before reverting to islam?

Question#2: being a new muslim as i am i would like to know the prrof or the evidence that listening to music is haraam? and if it is does that mean i am not allowed to play musical instruments like a piano, electronic keyboard if the purpose i do that is to find relaxation and nothing else?

Questions#3: is having a tv or watching tv haraam?

i am not trying to cause an argument here but really would like to know these things.
