when i bought my cockitial last june, the pet store owner told me, they tell males from females by the crown of feathers on the head, that the males have the feathers that stick up. and females do not have these feathers. my cockitial does have the orange spots on the sides of his head and he does have the feathers that crown his head. he has never laid an egg. so i figure the pet store owner was correct in saying i have a male. I however am worried about Dicky. he wont eat any large seeds, or fruit, or any treat i give him. he will only eat the small seeds for finches.
Do u suppose this limited diet will cause him problems? will u let me know if ur bird eats other items, and if u have any suggestions on how i could get him to improve his diet. Thank you, Debbie
