Subject: Timeless

So close now,
that distant melody of
screaming winds.
I feel first traces of its might
as it comes near.
If I could hide in a dark cave
and let it pass, I would be there now,
head bowed, wings tucked in,
eyes closed to avoid its power.
Alas, I have no wings, no
powers to withstand its might.

I will lonly leave behind a
a frail handful of bone
and ash -
No trace of tears
or years of trying,
no trace of words poured
out to those who did not care.

Most will remember
the love tucked well into
their hearts, and this pleases me,
for that love was carefully placed,
and timelessly endowed.
