Numb

I was just beginning to feel again,
sensations other than pain,
an indivisibility, an acceptance,
Now, alone and numb inside,
tears fall from my heart.
A piece of me, part of the puzzle,
is gone,
Exposing the hole yet again.
Alone and bewildered,
terrified that I’ll never be one.
All that lingers is a shadow,
of a shadow.
A glimpse of the soul that
for a fleeting moment,
was almost whole,
.But it was not to be.
I cannot fill the void,
I can only feel the void.
As cold damp wind rushes through.
