Subject: Baby Steps is nominated to be entered in IBPC Contest!

I also post on Mosaic Musings and they nominated my poem to for one of the poems posted on their board to be submitted for the IBPC Poetry Contest. Just to win this nomination is
such an honor for me. I am so new to writing sonnets and still have so much to learn. It is a very humbling experience for me, and I find that I write much better within the confines of a sonnet. I think that is where my poetry in the future lays. Judy

In dreams I see my syllables in print,
and fashioned swiftly into works of art.
Awake these modest thoughts can't draw a glint
or sigh from critics with a hardened heart.
My words today are infants in a crib,
who watch as others give their daily show.
Someday, I hope to be profusely glib,
and plot to let the meter freely flow.

I am content to walk a laggard's path,
and creep a toddler's progress through the mire
of do's and don'ts, and learn to do the math
of metered lines that singe my brain with fire.

Today I'll try to make my words ring clear.
Tomorrow I will overcome my fear.
