Hi Don,

I have been trying to determine what type of poetry this is, so I have scanned it to find out..I have no nits, but need to discover the different stresses throughout this poem. Is there a name for this...this is what I need to learn to recognize. Not sure I even have all the accents correct...Please correct My poor attempt to learn from you. Judi

Here goes..

She was'/ a mod'/ern lady
Reflect'/ing Grec'/ian lore.
She was'/ brigh'/test star
A lad'/y to'/ her core.

Her sib'/ling old'/er sister,
Less grand'/ than she. Missing a foot here?
They near'/ly colli'/ded
Foretelling'/ des'/tiny.

She'/ was bound'/ for fame.
Be'/ing so construct'/ed.
Her equi'/pment the best'/
All contin'/gencies deduct'/ed.

So like'/ the tow’r'/ of Ba'/bel
Except'/ she could'/ not fall.
Her top'/ touched (to)'/the heavens
From earth'/ she was'/ so tall.

Largest'/ bells'/ and whistles
She defi'/antly'/ did wear.
Every bangle'/ imag'/inable
She'/ was belle'/ of the year.

Her maid'/en voy'/age
Brought roy'/al fan'/fare.
Every'/one'/ was mirth'/ful,
Bles'/sed to'/ be there.

She left'/ in a rush'/,
Show'/ing her prow'/ess.
Her trip'/ was grand,'/
It coul'/dn’t be less.'/

To defy'/ the gods'/
Was her miss'/ion.
Imper'/vious'/ to harm
This,'/ her commiss'/ion.

So quick'/ly days passed'/
To ter'/minate'/ that night.
With unspeak'/able speed'/
Journeys end'/ was in sight'/.

Wait'/ing in float'/ing fog
Nep'/tune’s mirth'/ful mood
Touched'/ her skin'/ slightly,
Changed party/' into'/ brood.

Trust'/ing imper'/fect perfec'/tion
Save our souls'/ became'/ official.
How'/ could this hap'/pen
To a wo'/man unsink'/able?
