No, it's NOT your imagination, something is definitely not right with the last seven episodes. She's still sweet to everyone, and they're still BASICALLY adhering to the female action hero formula: looking good + being nice + having cool powers and using them ONLY to stop the bad guys, not start in on their punishment = a winning production. Still, her incantation of "Oh, zephyr winds..." is more downbeat; on "FLY!" she used to really hit an energetic note, her voice even sliding up the scale a bit. Also, "Andrea" got a bit snippy toward the end, putting more UMPH into the smart alec remarks we all knew were just gentle ribs in the first season, and even sounding a bit ANGRY at the weather machine gang (understandable, and totally realistic, but a definite departure from the first season). I think she might have been beginning to tire of doing the show, if only on a subconscious level. I know that's happened before. So, no, I don't think either of us are imagining this, or reading something in that isn't there. I even say in my (four star) rating of the show on Amazon that I wish they'd sell the seasons seperately; I'd offload my SECOND season for pennies if that's all I could get. It just doesn't compare to the first.
