The chimp's name was "Mooch". I worked as an extra in two episodes and can remember him cooped up in a pretty tiny cage whenever he wasn't working. I can also remember his "trainer" kicking him in the groin once when he became aggressive. When a couple of us commented on his diminutive lodgings the assistant trainer snapped that he was making much more than we were and we should mind our own business.
