Subject: OFFICIAL: General release timeline for Filmation DVDs announced!

BCI/Eclipse, the company currently holding the North American video licence for the Filmation library, have finally announced a general timeframe for their live-action titles.

In the news release, which you can read in its entiretly at TVShowsOnDVD (<a rel=nofollow target=_blank href="http://tvshowsondvd.com/newsitem.cfm?NewsID=6078),">http://tvshowsondvd.com/newsitem.cfm?NewsID=6078),</a> here is a brief summary:

Ark II
The Ghost Busters (yes, the live-action version)

Space Academy
Jason of Star Command

Although they've not announced any SPECIFIC days/dates, we at least know the general timeframe: Ark II and Ghost Busters before the end of the year, and the remaining titles to follow in 2007.

Previous announcements stated that releases would occur "between this summer and next", so hopefully, all the 2007 titles will be out around this time next year, if not sooner.

As for SHAZAM!, most of you probably know the rights to that series are controlled by DC Comics' parent company, Warner Bros. At the annual Home Theatre Forum chat with WB, someone asked about the show, and it was basically said that there are no release plans at the moment. I think they also cited some "issues "with the episode masters. Let's all give BCI some brisk sales of the Filmation titles (particularly Isis as that show guest-starred Capt. Marvel) and maybe WB will sit up and take notice.
