Subject: No SHAZAM episodes on Isis DVD set.
In reply to: Shazam Forever! 's message, "So the Million $ question is, if Wonder Woman got released to DVD, why not Shazam?" on 20:27:16 05/14/07 Mon

No, there won't be any episodes of SHAZAM on the ISIS set.

Long story short: Warner Bros. owns all 28 SHAZAM! episodes outright and WB is particularly notorious amongst the studios as unwilling to licence out ANY product that they own to anyone else.

The reason that BCI can release the three ISIS episodes that feature Captain Marvel is that Entertainment Rights owns ALL 22 episodes of ISIS outright. Since she guested in three episodes of SHAZAM and the Captain guested in three episodes of ISIS, it was apparently worked out in the original deal that WB would simply end up owning all 28 Shazam episodes whilst Filmation (and its subseqent "heirs") would control all 22 Isis shows.

It really is a shame that WB didn't cash on on the obvious cross-promotional opportunity to dust off Shazam and release it this summer to conincide with Isis. In last year's WB-TV chat, when queried about the show, they simply said there were issues with some of the masters. What issues there were, I've no idea, as the seven or so episodes that played on TV Land looked great.

At this years' chat (held a couple weeks back) someone again asked about Shazam and the comment was made that it's "being looked into." The only thing, though, is no one specified whether they were looking into the live-action show or the animated one (or both).
