I don't think there is such thing as an "unbiased" opinion. You just do the best you can to present everything. Obviously, she did have a bias and I'm sorry she was pushy about it. A lot of these places use volunteers and that is one of the drawbacks. I probably tend to be a tad more biased to the mom keeping her baby, but I've seen both choices turn out well.
Sorry you were pressured, but I'm glad you were able to get help. You could contact the place and tell them what you think you need to do. Either they can work with you on a "presumptive" basis, or you can then tell them you will have to cancel and reschedule because you don't have the money. I'm sure they will understand (and if not, that's their problem.) ;)
