In reply to: Lori 's message, "Jamie, how are you holding up?" on 03/15/06 11:47am

Thanks for checking on me. I'm ok. Of course my family is all on edge. My great grandmother was the one who held us together. I just hope we don't all get too far apart. This week has been awful b/c my monster in law decided to pick a fight with Garry and I the day of my grandma's funeral. We are looking for a house b/c I can't continue to take all of this stress. Going by the June due date, I've got 98 days to go and I'm in panic mode!! I want to nest and have no nest! :-( I'm praying we can get a house soon. Well, kids are yellin for me so I'll have to check in again soon. Take care,
Jam

Hi Jamie,

I will pray that you and your husband will find a home of your own. I know all too well what your going through. I'm sure you remember my emails=) If you and your husband can afford it I would try to find a place to live. If you need any help finding houses for rent etc let me know I have plenty of information that you might find useful.

Are you still living in Parkwood? If so, we'll have to go grab coffee together one day, I'd love to chat with you. I'm glad to see that your pulling through this. Your in my thoughts and prayers.

God Bless,
Lori

Hey Jamie~
I'm SO sorry to hear your in-laws are acting like this, especially on the day of the funeral! But hopefully this is a sign that you guys definitely need to move on! I think even an apartment at this point, just to get out of there would be more appealing than staying with them. You need to have your own space and without someone starting arguments over every situation. Please continue to keep us posted and I will be praying that you find a house soon!
God bless,
Tracey

Hi Jamie,
My grandparents were also the glue to our family, so I understand your concerns. My moms brothers and sisters are sort of scattered in different states so we don't see each other all that much. We honor their traditions and so our family makes it a point to get together at least once a year. So everyone travels and we spend Memorial Weekend together and we all go to our grandparents cemetary. We live in the country and the towns are still small. We have church and singing on the cemetary. Not a long service but it's very meaningful for us all. When you travel to the cemetary you pass the old Homeplace. It brings both sad but yet many joyful memories to mind when we see it each year. Some of my happiest memories of my childhood are on that farm. My grandparents were the most humble, christianly people. The best role models I can think of. My Aunt reminds us constantly that we came from Good Stock !
I'm sorry your mother in law was not more sensitive to your emotions the day of the Funeral. I agree, you will feel so different having your own place. I love my mother in law but I'll be honest, I couldn't live with her, heck I couldn't live with my own Mother. I wish you the best of luck finding a home for your family.
It's always good hearing from you !
Hugs,
Donna
