Hi, Rachel,
I think God sent you several messages to let you know He is watching out for all of you. That was quite a time you just went through. I've been through enough stuff to know how it can get to you. I'm glad all of you are safe. Keep praying, and make sure your husband doesn't come back home until he gets the help he needs. I won't comment on various methods of helping, but there has to be a good answer out there somewhere. Don't give up looking for it.
Be sure and tell Eli explicitly that abusiveness is not acceptable. Tell him repeatedly over the years. When our kids were growing up, I should have been more explicit. I relied too much on setting a good example on too many things. So tell Eli things you want him to know and to hear.
