It is always nice when we see what God has done for us. I know sometimes when I feel all alone and I say God where are you? I just remember what God said to Moses "There is a place near me where you may stand on a rock. When my glory passes by, I will put you in a cleft in the rock and cover you with my hand until I have passed by. Then I will remove my hand and you will see my back; but my face must not be seen." In our darkest times we feel that God isn't anywhere around but God is covering us with his hand and when He is done working things out for us we can see the beautiful work that He has done. I will be praying for you and your children. I know that God has a plan for your life so just hold tight. Please keep us updated. It sounds like Lori has given some good faith-based advice. I'm sorry to hear about your mothers struggles too with depression. You're right, when we're in soo much pain everything else is fogged in our minds. It doesn't make us a selfish person, it's the result of our coping abilities being outweighed by our struggles and pain and this is when we need intervention and professional care. It can be hard living with the fear that a loved one is going to hurt themselves, I've seen the fear in my parents eyes. Is your mother currently under the care of a doctor? Are there steps being taken to reduce the risk of another suicide attempt? As to whether or not return home, do you feel safe at home right now? Is there a safe place where you can stay until your husband begins treatment? If you ever need a listening ear, you can always e-mail me and I'll respond within 48 hrs.
