After reading this thread I'm reminded again how thankful I am for this board. Truly an amazing collection of women - such an array of strengths and gifts, kindness, help and warmth.
Rachel, I just came from your other posts updating where you're going and what you're up to right now. You're truly an amazing woman; very astute and forward thinking - quick to perceive and comprehend. You don't speak of seem to think in terms of being victimized and I think you're ability to refrain from doing so has been and will continue to be a great asset to you. You have a lot to offer as a mom and I think your children are blessed.
I hope some of the resources the other women linked pan out really well for you. In addition to appreciating your strength I also empathize for you in the upset of having to 'flee.' I'm glad you are, though. I think you're making really good choices.
"Come to me, all you who are weary and heavy laden, and I will give you rest."
"Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks the water I give him will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life." John 4:13-14
An excellent page I recently came across of very encouraging scriptures:

Hang in there, things are changing fast and the scenery of your life won't be in 'survival' mode forever.
