Subject: Civil Rights pamphlet plan

The Oct. 5th Assoc some weeks ago requested a co-founder of NICRA in 1967 to write a commemorative pamphlet as part of the 40th anniversary of the 1968 marches, across the Six Counties. Now written, it will also be illustrated. It is now with potential printers. Its cost at this stage is unknown. Only a Limited Edition of 500 is planned, and the surplus from the proceeds will be donated to the Oct. 5th Assoc. [OFA] which accepts no funding from government sources, companies or lobbying groups. It depends totally on donations from those within its network which has been built up over several years.

The OFA, established in 1997 as part of plans to mark the 30th anniversary of 1968, remains active on several issues and campaigns. It is an independent network of 1968 civil rights veterans and supporters, and maintains daily links with contacts on a world-wide basis.

Those wishing to become sponsors and receive a signed copy/ies are cordially requested to contact rights.civil@googlemail.com. A Sponsors' List is being drawn up, and could include organisations, their aims and objectives as well as their contact details, in addition to individual sponsors. Publication of such will only appear with the prior approval of each sponsor.

Further details will be mailed out to all who join the sponsorship list. No donations are being requersted at this formative stage, but it is not planned to publish any more than the initial 500, so an early response is advised. For a break down on contents etc., send a brief message to rights.civil@googlemail.com It will be especially dedicated to "Civil Rights Women", both living and dead.
