Subject: Special Branch harassment at Clonmult Martyrs Commemoration

Special Branch harassment.

On Sunday 18th February prior to the assembly for the Clonmult Martyrs Commemoration young members of Na Fianna Éireann were harassed by the Special Branch. When questioned for their names and with everything in order, they then wanted to know who owned the car the Fianna boys arrived in. The driver’s licence was checked not finding anything wrong they then surrounded the car (three branch, and four uniforms) and began a frenzied search.

Every area of the young man’s car was checked in detail. He was even requested to remove the spare wheel, whose threads were checked. This unwarranted and illegal search was meant to intimidate these young men and others who were nearby. Needless to say it failed in that regard.

The young Fianna Members then proceeded to put on their uniforms. In full view of the 26 county securitat they proudly drilled in preparation for the up coming Commemoration. In every regard these young men proudly represented not just themselves but their organisation Na Fianna Éireann.

Throughout the day as the Commemoration unfolded, the branch both male and female kept a close observation with video footage and photographs been taken, this while local drug pushers operate openly with impunity on a daily basis. Such is the Ireland of the 26 county police state.

A full report on the Commemoration can be read at http://www.rsfcork.com/currentnews.htm
