While this message is very welcome, why did it take 4 years for this to be realized? I was there in 2003 and I and my partner were the excuse that Jimbo used to get the Vets expelled from the lodge in Derry. They even held their computers hostage for a while.

But, this above letter is better late than never at all, as I believe that truth will win out over lies, given enough time.

Thank you, whoever you are for contributing for the eventual correction of the wrong committed by AOH Derry against the Civil Rights Veterans, whose entire effort in Feb. 22, 2003 was to bring attention to the horrible conditions under which the prisoners were living. They were terribly wronged.

Contrary to malicious news reports, there was no other purpose in the meeting than humanitarian for the families and the prisoners. The meeting was made up of the families of the prisoners, the prisoners’ spokespersons, and international observers like myself. Thanks to Liam Clark and his dogs, the message about the conditions of the prisoners, and the impending hunger strike never got into the press. Conditions have not gotten any better for the prisoners in the subsequent years.
