Hi. I was on this cruise. Yes, we definitely sailed from Southampton. I remember the bad weather through the Bay of Biscay and was very proud not to have been sick. One destination you missed from your summary was Mycenae in Greece - one of my favourite places. Some of the memories about the ship that have stayed with me all these years are the distinctive smell you used to get when approaching the canteen for breakfast - could make you a bit queasy. The film that was being shown during that cruise was The Elephant Man - made me cry. The song that seemed to be played the most in the disco was The Birdy Song. I remember one evening we were all singing it and going through the motions long after the actual music stopped and it took the staff some time to get us to stop and go to bed!
I also remember docking right next to the Oriana at Izmir (I think) - President Saddat had just been assasinated and I think they would not allow any foreign ships to dock in Eygpt so the Oriana had to divert.
