 I was an Engineering Cadet on the Uganda during that cruise. It was my first ship and the incident you remember had a massive effect on the crew as in all the years of operation as an educational cruise ship, this was the first pupil that had been lost.
The UgTug orThe Dredger as she was affectionately known by some was a great ship and a massive influence on my life and that of many others.
