Hello Wayne, this is the first contact I've had with anyone that has ever sailed on the S.S.Uganda. I served on the ship in the Falkland conflict,I had sad & good memories of my time aboard. Most of the stories I hear about the S.S.Uganda complain about the food, well my experience at that time was very good as I worked as a steward at the time & knew first hand of what was going on in the kitchen. My greatest concern was the hygine, at the time of the conflict we had indian crew as well british. The indian crew done most of the washing up & serving the food, but the washing up water wasn't changed that often.
The food was great & yes I also ate in the indians accomodation, also good but the cockroaches were a bit off putting. If you want to hear more get in touch, I would also would be iterested in the slide show you were going to try & put together.
