I went on a school cruise on the SS Uganda in about 1978. We went to Pompeii, Kotor, Rhodes, Malta, Venice and Istanbul (via the Dardanelles). I was with Earlham School from Norwich and Andrew Mallett and Mary Keith were also there from Earlham, but I can't remember anyone else. I made friends with a girl from another school (Tracey I think) and spent the whole time with her and Andrew. There was a big storm one day and I can remember sliding up and down the common room in the chairs as the ship rolled and the up and down movement was so fierce that in the huge windows all you could see was sea, then all you could see was sky. Baker Street was the song on the jukebox that sticks most in my head!
