I was lucky enough to sail on a school cruise in April 77.
I remember it cost something like �150 which was a lot of money back then and only 8 pupils at my school could afford to go so we joined up with another school near-by that only had 5 going and their teacher.

What fun it was. We flew out to Naples and back from Venice and yes, we were always allowed a half day exploring on our own...would they let kids do that now...dont think so.

I was 14 at the time and bedtimes were staggerd allowing 15 and up to stay up a little later and infact if you were 16 or over you could smoke in certain areas IF your parents signed an agreement form!!!!!! which i remember there were a fair few.

God the food was awful, but it was so much fun.
