 I was an engineer on Uganda from Oct '78 and remember this cruise, as it was my last one before I got married in June 1980. I even had a memorable stag night in Vigo.
I can remember it being very hot - a scorcher of a cruise!
I went back to Uganda after my leave, then joined Canberra for a while.
But I do have a soft spot for Uganda - iconic ship!
There is a website called seadogs reunited and I have made contact with, and had some reunions with, other P&O engineers who remember those days with fondness.
