 Karen, a long time since your post but I was on the same cruise! The tragedy of the Costa Concordia prompted discussions about cruising at work, got me thinking about what a fantastic time I had on the Uganda all those years ago. I was in a school party from Kent, great memories of exotic places, the volcanic lakes in the Azores the Mosque in Rabat. We had to wear our school uniforms in those days and remember hopping about on the hot sand of a Moroccan beach for a short while! On Madeira our coach broke down in the mountains which was an adventure in itself. I remember keeping a ship's log which sadly I can't find.
People? Old school mates, a girl called Janet Hudson(?) from West Wickham (I think?), it was a long time ago! I've managed to salvage some photos which I've digitised and will try to post on this site. May be of interest.
Great memories, and what a good forum. Would be great to hear from anyone on the July '69 cruise.
