I have just come across this wonderful page after watching the Falklands commemration on the t.v. this afternoon when it mentioned the ss Uganda as a hospital ship, I typed in the SS Uganda and let the search engine do the rest.
I was on the cruise that left Southampton in July 1969 it cost a total of £54.00 which I had to save half of and my parents put in the rest. We went to the Azores, Maderia, Canary Islands, and Casablanca. We had a great time there was a bunch of French students on the trip, and I remember them celebrating Bastille Day, but I suppose the biggest memory was given out over the tannoy that man had landed on the moon," one small step for man one giant leap for mankind."
The worst memory was being constantly sick across the Bay of Biscay on our way back to Southampton.
