 Just happened accross this site - like everyone else, brings back great memories! I was on a Xmas time cruise [81 I think] sailed from Naples to Cyrpus, Greece, Antalya in Turkey,Israel Haifa [Jerusalem/Bethlehem Xmas day]and Malta. We were from Gowerton School in Swansea, South Wales. Us boys dormed right in the bows it seemed, way way down in the bowells! Shared with some older lads from Birmingham / Solihull - Lew Onions and his mates. I was the lanky geek who was always wearing a flat cap! Remember watching Rocky 3 in the cinema, getting drunk on little tinnies of weak lager, smuggling bottles of ouzo on board after stopping in Greece [I KNOW it was supposed to be educational...!] A fantastic experience and memories that will stay with me for a lifetime. I was genuinley upset when I found out that she was being scrapped. I used a knife from the canteen to unscrew some signs to take home as souvenirs - I've looked high and low for them recently, but they've dissapeared..shame!
