I was extremely fortunate to have been on this particular cruise.I was one of five children in our family and I know that my parents didn't have a lot of spare cash in those days...so I count myself very lucky that they found the money to give me what turned out to be a fantastic experience that holds many memories for me.I remember vividly travelling to Glasgow with my mum to buy new clothes before making the trip...blue bell bottom cords,multi-coloured stripped t shirt,a new 'sharks tooth suit'..eh !..we were going to the med...why did she buy me a suit !!!!!!!!!!!
I was 16 at the time with hair down my back and thought I was oh so cool.
Because I was a 'senior' I was able to stay up later for the 'senior pupil disc'...wow...what memories.

I was amazed when an american girl..very beautiful..called Maria took a fancy to me...could not believe my luck at the time...cos I think all the males on the ship had a crush on her...and that included half the ships officers....all true.

The places we visited were amazing and I will never forget my cruise...thanks mum..thaks Dad (RIP)
