Maybe not many people know but once a year the National Trust for Scotland would charter the ship for a week or ten days and open up the dormitories to adult passengers. Pretty cramped, but extremely cheap compared with luxury cruises. We always cruised around the NTS flagship, St Kilda, then visited various Northern European/Scandinavian Ports. I cruised four times in the mid-late seventies and still keep up with a few fellow ex-passengers. Anyone else out there frequent the NTS cruises?

Also looking for a reasonably priced copy of "UGANDA: The story of a very special ship". Anyone help?
