My father's Separation from Service lists one of his duty stations during WWII as CTG 125.14. Does anyone know what this means? During Operation Neptune, there is a reference to CTG 125.14 as part of Force "U" which landed at Utah Beach. It lists a Lt. CMDR H.M. Ness RNVR and 7 HDML next to 125.14 in Force "U". My father, Russell D. Heaton, was a Coxwain on LST 289 who was transferred after it was torpedoed during Exercise Tiger. Does the CTG 125.14 designation on his Separation from Service correspond to 125.14 in Force "U". He was transferred to USNAAB Cherbourg after D-Day.
