My father (Robert W. Pace) served on the USS McCracken. He died when I was 12, and I am now 48. I am sorry that I have no information to help you. I do have some pictues and I have my father's travel log from the day of commissioning until Dec 10, 1945. I will gladly share these things with you regardless. However, I was wondering if you may have anything to share with me - pictures, stories, diaries - anything that will help me piece together part of my father's life.
