 I've received a number of emails today from people asking me to fly "virtual flags" on my FaceBook page and the website and to say prayers for those who protect and serve us.
While those are nice ideas, I have always thought that words whisper and actions shout.
After I hoisted my 48 star "coffin flag" I wrote large checks to my local EMT's and Volunteer Fire Departments and hand deliver them this morning. The usual USO check went out last week.
After you say your prayers and fly your flags, pull out your checkbooks and donated liberally to these organizations.
They can use the funds and actions speak louder than words.
