Subject: passing of Sampson Trainee

 William James Burnett passed May 27th, 2011, he pass through Sampson and was assigned to the USS LSM 396 and served as a EM3, stationed with the LSM 396 at San Diego, Ca; and was honorably discharge June 18th, 1946. Bill returned to Cooperstown, NY where he owned and operated the local Western Auto store until 1979 when he retired. His obit can be seen in the Oneonta, NY paper, thedailystar.com; Bill was very active in Cooperstown and is missed.
